CAE

The Montréal simulator maker that trains the world's pilots, and invests in its people

Founded in 1947, CAE grew from a Canadian aviation electronics shop into the training partner airlines and defence forces rely on in more than 40 countries. Its 11,500 people work to a plain mission, "to make the world safer", backed by public-market capital and repeated federal and Québec R&D partnerships.

01 · Culture

How they work

Our viewCAE builds its culture around a short set of values (One CAE, Empowerment, Innovation, Integrity, Excellence) and practical supports: hybrid options, generous parental leave, paid volunteer time and, for many roles, a no-limit vacation policy. It works on reconciliation through an Indigenous Advisory Board and PAIR certification, and recognition from TIME and Mediacorp shows that employees notice.

Recognition

Who backs them, and what they back

PublicTSX / NYSE: CAE source ↗

Our viewCAE is publicly listed on the TSX and NYSE. Over decades it has paired its own R&D spending with repayable federal and Québec support, most recently Project Resilience, a C$1-billion program backed by C$340 million from the two governments. Its portfolio is now sharper and defence-heavier, after it sold its Healthcare business in 2024.
