Telecom R&D; Ericsson describes its Ottawa R&D centre as its largest in North America, with 3,100 Canadian employees across Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Mississauga.

Second pillar of the telecom R&D cluster. Ericsson signed a five-year funding agreement with the Government of Canada in November 2024 covering more than $630M of Canadian R&D investment, following a CAD 470M five-year commitment announced in April 2023 that named a 25,000 sq m Ottawa facility.
