StackAdapt

A profitable Toronto adtech company whose people work like underdogs

Three co-founders started StackAdapt in Toronto in 2014. It is now a multichannel advertising platform used by thousands of brands and agencies in 19 markets. Great Place to Work ranked it 15th among Canada's Best Workplaces for 2026. In 2025, Ontario Teachers' late-stage arm led a US$235-million round that BetaKit reports valued it near US$2.5 billion.

01 · Culture

How they work

Our viewStackAdapt has grown past 1,300 people without giving up its underdog values: speed, grit, humility and following through. Its Work & Wander policy and global WeWork pass make flexibility the default, and its onboarding includes a grounding in programmatic advertising. Great Place to Work has repeatedly confirmed the results through its employee surveys, including Canada's Best Workplaces for 2026.

Who backs them, and what they back

Venture-backedRaised US$500M+ · 2025-02 source ↗

Our viewStackAdapt is venture-backed, and its main backers are Canadian institutions, led by the late-stage arm of Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan. It has raised more than US$500 million in total; BetaKit reports that much of the 2025 round was secondary, giving early holders liquidity. Hiring a CFO in 2024 kept an eventual IPO "within the realm of possibility."
